EPA Waste Advisory Committee Members

The EPA Board have approved membership for the new Waste Advisory Committee (WAC).

The WAC will facilitate and monitor the implementation of the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Management Strategy which was released in June 2009.

Membership consists of Tasmania's three regional waste management bodies, the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment, a community representative, an industry representative and the Department of Economic Development Tourism and the Arts.

The Waste Advisory Committee will be chaired by Mr John Ramsay who is also chair of the EPA Board.

The members are:

Mr John Ramsay - Chair
Ms Louise Cherrie - Industry representative
Mr Harry Galea - Northern Strategy Group
Mr David Hurburgh - Department of Economic Development Tourism and the Arts
Mr John Mollison - Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment
Mr Gerald Monson - Cradle Coast Waste Management Board
Mr David Sales - Southern Waste Strategy Authority
Mr Nigel Shearer - Community representative

The first meeting of the WAC will be held on Wednesday, 4th November in Hobart.
